adm Group has been recognised by EcoVadis as one of the best performing companies globally at the Sustainability Leadership Awards.
The award recognises the top 1% of performers from across 160 countries and 200 categories covered in the EcoVadis assessment. The award highlights adm’s continued commitment to sustainable practices and innovation within its global supply chain.
This achievement follows the award of a Gold Advance Score for a fourth consecutive year by EcoVadis in September. With over 50,000 applicants, ranking in the top percentile was a huge achievement and showcases adm’s sustainability credentials on a global scale.
Ranja Sengupta, Group CSR Strategy Advisor, commented: “Due to the global nature of our supply chain, it is vital that we lead by example and support our suppliers and factories in meeting the high CSR standards we set. This is a critical part of our business and we are aware of the importance our clients place on this too. This award recognises that we are pushing in the right direction, yet we know there is so much more to do to ensure a fair and sustainable industry.”
Over the course of 2019, adm has taken steps to build upon its sustainability initiatives. In March, adm donated 34 laptops equipped with educational software to three shelters in Mexico, empowering around 250 young women to succeed. In APAC, adm’s Global Sourcing Hub in Hong Kong gained FSC and ISO accreditation to strengthen its ability to produce sustainable goods. Through a variety of fundraising activities, adm has also successfully raised money for Worldwide Cancer Research, the Salvation Army and Kids Helping Kids.
