adm Group’s Stamford office recently took part in Fairfield County’s Giving Day in support of non-profit organization Kids Helping Kids. Following a day of fundraising, adm was able to raise $2,529 within the 24-hour time limit. By finishing with the most unique donations, KHK was awarded an additional $2,000 bonus prize by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, taking adm’s contribution to $4,529.
adm is proud to support KHK and delighted to see that their total for the day surpassed $35,000. This money will go towards delivering youth-led service projects to underserved children in the community. Later in the afternoon, adm hosted KHK project, Notes of Hope. More than two dozen children arrived to make greeting cards for pediatric cancer patients in hospital.
Jennifer Bentley, KHK Program Director, commented: “Giving Day is such an exciting day for us! It is incredible to see the outpouring of support from our KHK families, community partners and friends. We are a small, but mighty team working to expand the reach of our service projects and develop leadership skills within our youth volunteers. We are so grateful for the support of the adm Stamford office for their hospitality and enthusiastic fundraising efforts! Thank you for believing in the power of youth to make an impact in the community.”
Lee Allen, adm Group’s CEO Americas and KHK Board Member, added: “Having joined the Kids Helping Kids board towards the end of 2019, I’m delighted to have been able to welcome the team into the adm offices. The organisation delivers great value to the community as well as provide an environment for young people to become leaders. I’m excited to see how adm can further support KHK in the future.”
About Kids Helping Kids
The KHK mission is to develop leadership skills through youth-led service projects. KHK empowers kids to turn empathy into action by designing and implementing service projects that benefit other children in the community. All of their projects are created, planned and led by youth. They provide meaningful and enriching experiences, foster personal connections and fill a need for kids throughout the community. KHK’s volunteers are elementary through high school students who are looking for opportunities to make an impact in their community. Kids can sign up to participate in any project based on their availability or choose to spark a project based on their own interests. KHK empowers kids to become actively engaged in their community and beyond. Their model provides an opportunity for kids to develop critical skills, to find their voice as leaders and to make service a part of their lives. KHK help young people find their unique ability to make a difference in the world.
