My adm graduate experience – Alice Mayo

Before joining adm, I studied Business and Management at the University of Portsmouth. I have always been keen to be part of a fast growing and successful company, and when I discovered adm I knew that this was the company where I wanted to start my career.

After a few interviews with different account teams in adm, it was clear that my heart was set on joining the Bacardi account team, and luckily they wanted me too!

My first two weeks consisted of lots of training, inductions with key people in the business including the CEO and COO, and even learning how to make the most extravagant cocktails in a bar in Soho with my new team. Overall a great start to my graduate programme here.

I’ve learnt a lot during these past ten months, including: improving my organisation skills, learning how to prioritise, and getting to grips with accounting and finance, something that I always struggled with at university. Since working hands on with our financial models and margins I have gained so much more confidence in this area and now work comfortably with numbers and costs every day.

I enjoy the variety of work that my role involves. Today I attended client meetings at the Brown Forman offices in Oxford Circus, worked with the Creative team on a new developmental product for Bombay Sapphire, confirmed orders for Jack Daniel’s items, had multiple calls with suppliers and I finished off my day with prosecco and Turkish food with the Bacardi team!

My team have been so supportive throughout my time here so far and I have learnt so much from them all. My next chapter with adm is fast approaching and I will be going to work abroad in the US for a year. This is a huge opportunity and I am so excited to work in a different country, learn new skills and continue to progress on my journey to becoming an Account Manager at adm.
