adm Awarded “Gold” for its Commitment to CSR

London – February 6th 2017 – EcoVadis has given the adm Group a gold rating for the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. adm was awarded with Gold with a score that placed it in the top EcoVadis rating category and among the top one per cent of businesses reviewed. The adm Group is well ahead of other businesses in the same sector when it comes to CSR activities and is setting new standards in the industry with this outstanding result.

The EcoVadis survey examined the companies’ principles, activities and results in the following categories: Fair Business Practices, Labor Practices and Human Rights, Environment and Sustainable Procurement. adm’s performance was particularly impressive in the categories: Labor Practices and Human Rights as well as Sustainable Procurement. The adm Group was particularly commended for going beyond the usual CSR standards in many areas. In the category Sustainable Procurement, adm has developed its own supplier rating which was considered marker leading for the sector. The marketing services provider ranks suppliers according to their compliance with the guidelines set out in the Code of Conduct and regular audits are carried out to ensure a continuous process.

“We are extremely proud to have received this award for our commitment to CSR! We regard sustainable practice as a top priority, as do our clients. We want to make a meaningful contribution to acting responsibly towards people and the environment. We are convinced that this is the only way to achieve business success,” explained Justin Barton, CEO of the adm Group.

As one of the world’s largest providers of marketing services, adm takes responsibility for its actions along the entire value chain: from the extraction of natural resources through processing to the finished product and to the use and disposal of these products by customers. Besides achieving lasting business success, the company aims to achieve an effective reduction in any negative effects the value chain may have on people and the environment. In April 2016, adm joined the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest CSR initiative, and is committed to abiding by its principles.

adm’s sustainability management has also set ambitious goals for the future in the categories: business ethics, staff, products and supply chain as well as environment. These include reducing CO2 emissions and electricity consumption as well as a full investigation of suppliers to ensure they are complying with the Code of Conduct. adm will continue to focus to work with suppliers who are committed to responsible practice.

EcoVadis provides global CSR ratings of suppliers to global supply chains and helps companies manage risk and improve sustainability. This award proves that adm’s focus on corporate responsibility as the fundamental principle underlying its activities is justified and is indeed a major success factor not only for the company itself but for its clients too.
